Blue Ribbon Animals: A Tutorial

11/16/2010 | Posted by Joe View Comments

For a limited time you can make your Animals happy for half the Gro cost. Keep reading to learn how to raise your first Blue Ribbon Animal.

Raising Blue Ribbon Animals is an easy way to get great returns on your farm.

The following tutorial will walk you through raising your first. Blue Ribbon Animals maximize your farm’s earning potential and help you to have the best farm of all your neighbors!

Step 1: Choose an Animal

To start raising your first Blue Ribbon Animal, tap on a Pen, Pasture, Coop, or other animal-raising building.  Then, choose which animal you’d like to raise.

Different animals yield different rewards; typically the longer they take to mature, the better rewards, so make your decision accordingly. You can always build another enclosure to raise a different animal later, if you change your mind.

Step 2: Pet! Pet! Pet!

Once you’ve selected which animal you want to raise, you’ll need to pet it frequently to make it happy. An animal is ready to be pet when it has a red heart over its head.  Tap the heart to pet your animal and increase its Happiness.

After petting your animal you must wait a while to pet it again. Animals that mature faster need to be checked frequently.

Step 3 (Optional): Make ‘em happy with Gro

Using Gro to add Happy is a guaranteed way to raise a Blue-Ribbon Animal. After you’ve initially pet your Animal, tap on its home to bring up the menu below.  The % of Happiness it has directly correlates to the chance you have of getting a Blue Ribbon.  The more you pet, the better the chance you’ll get a Blue Ribbon!

To use Gro to add Happy, just tap the button.

Step 4: Good things come to those who wait

After your animal is as happy as you can make it, you’ll need to wait for it to fully mature.  You can use Gro to mature instantly, or you can wait it out.

When it is mature, you’ll see a white ribbon over its head.  Tap that Ribbon to send it to the County Fair.

Step 5: Success!

Once you’ve sucessfully raised a Blue Ribbon Animal, you’ll know by its new look and better rewards.  Blue Ribbon Animals are completely happy and require no additional petting. Have your friends stop by and take out jobs to start raking in the Gold and XP.

You can construct more animal enclosures to raise additional Blue Ribbon Animals and continue to increase your gains — exponentially!
